Data Engineer (closed)

On behalf of our customer from Switzerland, Mobilunity is looking for Data Engineer. This is a long-term project. Distributed teams. Project: marketing explorer system. The customer is very team-oriented and easy-going in communication. We are looking for a self-motivated team player who will be comfortable to work in a small, intense and high-growth start-up environment.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with DevOps on maintenance and tuning and with Data Scientists to create new app functionality.
• Write data pipelines to extract, transform and load (ETL) data.
• Building of a reliable and scalable data infrastructure.
  

Position requirements:

• 2 + year of experience as a data engineer.
• Thorough understanding of Python and its core principles.
• Experience with big data technologies (MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Hadoop streaming, Spark).
  Knowledge of  relational data stores (PostgreSQL, Redshift)
• Knowledge of NoSQL data stores ( Couchbase, MongoDB)
• Basic knowledge in DevOps.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• English on upper intermediate level or higher

Would be a plus:

• Proficiency in one of programming language (Java, Scala).
• Strong SQL skills
• Knowledge of AWS infrastructure
• Experience in data models and data warehouses designing.
• Ability to identify and resolve performance issues.
