Senior Java Developer

On behalf of our Client from the US, Mobilunity is looking for a Java Developer.

In this role, you will work on mission-critical backend services, integrations, product catalog management, inventory synchronization, order processing, and marketplace integrations that support a rapidly growing online retail business.

We are looking for a highly experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, takes ownership of solutions, and is comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate directly with both technical and business stakeholders.

Candidates must be available to work primarily during US business hours, with a preferred schedule of 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM CET.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java SE and object-oriented programming principles.
• Solid experience with Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Spring Boot).
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience working with SOAP web services.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities:

 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring technologies.
• Build and enhance integrations with internal systems, third-party platforms, marketplaces, and external partners.
• Develop and maintain APIs and web services (REST and SOAP).
• Support product catalog management, inventory synchronization, and order processing workflows.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate directly with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in code quality, development processes, and platform reliability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and work closely with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with SAP Commerce (Hybris) and B2B/B2C e-commerce platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and GraphQL.
• Experience with marketplace integrations, event-driven architectures, or third-party service integrations.
• Experience supporting high-availability and high-traffic systems.
• Background in automotive, retail, or e-commerce industries.
• Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
• Experience working with US-based companies or distributed international teams.
