Our client is a fast-growing fintech company based in Tokyo. The company offers a real-time monthly consolidated credit service all across Japan, a so-called Buy Now Pay Later solution. Our client started Japan’s first instant post-pay credit service for eCommerce consumers in October 2014.
In 2022 our client appeared among the world’s Top 100 fintech companies according to the research of the FinTech Magazine — digital community for the Financial Technology industry.
The main product is an online payment app that doesn’t require the usage of credit cards and the pre-registration process. Instead, customers get the ability to buy products online with the help of phone numbers and email addresses (Buy Now Pay Later model). They also get a perk of using their funds during the whole month and then return the zero balance without paying accrued interest. The product also supports multi-pay installments and subscriptions.
There are currently over 1,500,000 accounts in use. This service got the largest investment in the Japanese financial tech industry, including PayPal Ventures investment.

The dedicated team at Mobilunity for the client has been launched in June 2020. The team size in 2021 varies around 5 full-time members, and permanently grows.

Working Processes
Our client prefers Kanban as an Agile project management methodology. Tasks and issues are processed on the Kanban board, and they have the same principle as Jira tickets.
