On behalf of our Client, a well-established financial institution from the Japan, Mobilunity is looking for a UX/UI Designer for a part-time engagement.
It is start up building an AI-native auction platform for classic & enthusiast cars, launching in Japan and with plans expanding to global buyers. AI assists sellers by recognizing vehicles from photos, auto-suggesting metadata, and generating listing copy. Buyers get a modern, real-time auction experience. Payments run via Stripe; app consumes a GraphQL API. They need a UI/UX designer to shape the first customer-facing prototype.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own UX/UI for three core flows:
- Create Listing from photos → AI-assisted metadata & description
- Auction Experience with real-time bidding
- Logged-in Buyer Flow (win screen → payment handoff)
- Create pixel-perfect designs in Figma (or Paraflow → Figma), ensuring visual continuity and a cohesive design language.
- Produce developer-ready assets: component specs, redlines, interaction notes; ideally exportable HTML/CSS layouts for key screens.
- Establish a lightweight design system (colors, type, spacing, components, states).
- Design with i18n in mind (JP default; handle non-Latin scripts, variable text length).
- Collaborate in short daily check-ins (EU morning); iterate quickly on feedback.
- Support handoff to a React developer (Vite/Gatsby) integrating a GraphQL API.
Requirements:
- 3+ years UI/UX experience with a strong web product portfolio (marketplaces, fintech, or media a plus).
- Expert in Figma (components, auto-layout, variants, prototypes); comfort reviewing Paraflow flows.
- Proven i18n design chops (CJK or other non-Latin scripts; typography & layout for multi-byte languages). The designs will be in English but the launch in japanese, so previous work with asian or cyrilic languages would be good.
- Experience crafting design systems and responsive UI for mobile-first web.
- Ability to deliver clean, semantic HTML/CSS for core layouts (nice-to-have but strongly preferred).
- Excellent communication; comfortable with async work and quick iterations.
- English – Upper Intermediate and higher.
Nice to Have:
- Automotive/enthusiast or e-commerce/auction experience.
- Familiarity with GraphQL data shapes and dev handoff best practices.
- Accessibility (WCAG) and performance awareness for mobile web.
- Understanding of AI-assisted content/metadata workflows.
Engagement & Hours:
- Part-time (approx. 15–20 hrs/week), for 2-3 weeks to deliver V1 of the three flows, with potential extension for refinement & additional screens.
- Availability window: ability to meet once daily during EU morning overlap (UK ↔ Tokyo).
Come on board, and let’s grow together!
